Abstract

Abstract. The article analyzes the understanding of military issues in modern Ukrainian children's literature. It is established that children's literature acts as an effective tool of socialization and psychological support, performing a number of strategic tasks: a protective function aimed at harmonizing the child's internal state; the function of intellectual mediation of complex realities; as well as the ideology of national self-identification. The need for age differentiation when choosing military texts for the growing generation is clarified. It is noted that the role of the teacher is not only to teach the material, but also to create a safe atmosphere and empathetic support for the child. It is proven that the creation of unique military content helps the child process the trauma and form a conscious civic position. It is revealed that the search for optimal forms of presenting such information remains a relevant challenge for Ukrainian studies research. It is emphasized that children's military literature, published in conditions of full-scale invasion, is a powerful factor in worldview-forming and military-patriotic education. It is substantiated that modern works make it possible to reveal the concept of military sacrifice and the virtues of a defender, forming a heroic image necessary for the preservation of national memory. It is revealed that children's military literature in Ukraine is the foundation for the formation of patriotic sentiments and a stable life position. Methodological recommendations are proposed for working with works of modern military literature in primary school. Given the potential of these texts in strengthening national identity, it is proposed to strengthen state support for book publishing to expand the range of military book products for children.
