Ukrainian Identity in Opinion Writing Discourse: the Dynamics of Communication Impacts, Crisis Challenges

Abstract


The article is devoted to the consideration of issues of national identity as part of an opinion writing discourse and based on scientific researches of Ukrainian and foreign scholars over the conceptualisation of origins of the Ukrainian identity, the true toponymical identification, soviet russification, media-networking form of bilingualism. This study considers the changes in language identity: from ideological oppression in the Soviet Union to use in electoral political technologies in modern Ukraine. The research has attempted to highlight the new trends of the language identity during the crisis challenges, in particular, the emerging of the new emphasis of bilingualism in social networks. The article expands researches of Ukrainian identity, reflected in opinion wrtinig. This study is also for geopolitical crisis challenges facing Ukraine in the 21st century and how they influenced the transformation of Ukrainian national identity.
