Peculiarities of Competence for Interpretation and Translation of Foreign Newspaper Texts

Abstract

The article deals with interpretation and translation peculiarities of foreign periodical issues texts, English newspaper texts in particular, actuality in connection with the European integration course of Ukraine and increasing the role of the communication with English language. Viewpoints of researchers are analyzed and interconnections between the processes of interpretation and translation are established; the notion of “interlingual translation” is given; different types of translation are presented; the role of a translator is defined in the process of reflecting the author’s intention; lexical, semantic and stylistic peculiarities of foreign newspaper texts are established.
