Activity of Professor Jerzy Benjamin Flyat as the Founder and the First Director of the Institute of Agriculture in Marymont in 1819–1830 (to the 200th Anniversary of the Kharkiv National V. V. Dokuchaiev Agricultural University)
Abstract
The significance of achievements of Professor Jerzy Benjamin Flyat (Polish – Jerzy Beniamin Flatt) in establishing of the Institute of Agriculture in Marymont was defined. The essence of scientific innovative ideas of the scientis for the organization of agricultural education on a scientific basis was revealed. The detailed analysis of the developed by the Professor “Plan of Founding of an Agricultural School in Marymont” was carried out. The ideas of the scientist on combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills of future specialists in agriculture were actualized. Reasonable opinion of these founder of the agricultural education as for the classification in the level of agricultural specialists training from the point of view of the specificity of there future functions was proved. The urgency of ensuring governments in agricultural university activity was specified. The necessity of the state stimulation of the appropriate profile specialists training by giving preferences in employment in the state institutions for persons having documents certifying the graduation of the Institute was substantiates. The attention is focused on the problems of social protection of the students of the agricultural educational establishment. The role of Professor Jerzy Benjamin Flyat in the creation and deployment of the Institute of Agriculture in Marymont, one of the first European higher agricultural educational establishments was underlined.
