Ukrainian Visual Art as an Artistic Expression: from Euromaidan to the Military Confrontation in Eastern Ukraine

Abstract


The article shows Ukrainian visual art of the last two years as an artistic and social expression through direct inclusion and participation of artists in the events as well as indirectly through symbolic and figurative language. The author has found significant national symbols and images of personalities (Cossack, warrior, culture figures, Shevchenko, heroes of the Hundreds of Heaven).
